Mo*vida

Nearest underground station: Oxford Circus and Tottenham Court Road

Opening Hours:
Wednesday - Saturday: 20:00 - 04:00

This is strictly members only. You will not get in unless you're a member or are accompanied by a member.

Advice: Wear smart clothes but do not take expansive stuff because it gets packed and you might get mugged.

Mo*vida is a nightclub known as one of the most famous venues in London. It has a funky distinctive mixture of a Moroccan-Alaskan style. Tables are alined around the club and the area is segregated between different rooms where in the end they all become one big dance floor.

Warning: The club get's too packed throughout the night and it is hard to move around - find a place and stay there.

Opinion: I find Mo*vida a very nice nightclub to go to because the atmosphere is fun! They have really good music and you will enjoy yourself. However the space is a little bit too small for it's crowd.

Zebrano Ganton Street

Nearest underground station: Oxford Circus and Piccadilly Circus

Opening Hours:
Ground Floor Bar/Restaurant:
Monday -Thursday 11:00 - 23:30
Friday - Saturday 11:00-00:00
Sunday 12:00-22:30

Advice: This place is ideal for a big get together with your friends.

If you want to eat while listening to good nightclub music Zebrano is your place! Zebrano is split into two areas. The first floor is where the bar and restaurant is located. It has a modern/groovy atmosphere and setting style.
It also has an extremely popular outdoor area where the guests can feel the Soho's atmosphere. The second floor in the other hand is more "night-clubish". It contains two bars that are separated through a few set of tables. Where people tend to dance throughout the night.

Warning: You must arrive early in Zebrano because it get's packed and there will be no seats for you or your friends. The menu does not contain a lot of options and the meal comes in large portions - so do not eat before hand. Leave before midnight because there are less people and the music becomes repetitive.

Opinion: I believe Zebrano is the perfect place to start your night. It has good food and drinks. The staff are really nice and I really enjoyed my night there. It is the perfect place to meet your friends before you go to a nightclub. However, do not stay the whole night there because it is not a nightclub and you will end up getting bored.

WARNING: London Black Cab Taxi Drivers

If you live in London you probably heard the horrible consequences of getting a mini cab in the streets. The best choice? A black cab. A London black cab is known for providing the best taxi service in the city. The drivers are required to undergo a rigorous tests to prove their competence which can take up to four years. Each individual's character is tested and checks are made regarding any criminal records.

For me this is all bullshit. To be honest I believe that a London black cab is as dangerous as any other mini cab. Why? Because being a young woman myself I had enough experience with them. The first one was when I lived close to Old Street Station. One night it took me 25 minutes to get home when it would usually take me ten. The taxi driver was going around in circles and there was no traffic. I told him I was calling the police and because he didn't take me seriously I literally opened the windows of the cab and tried to open the door from the outside.

The second time was when my friends and I were going to Zebrano to celebrate my birthday and we took a London black cab from my house because we were late. Unfortunately, I asked the driver if he could take a shortcut. He took the request so personal that he yelled and lectured me about his driving career. In the end he wanted us to leave his car. I had to apologize until we reached the restaurant. My last experience was when I was coming back from my birthday party and the taxi driver cussed at me because I didn't give him any tips.

The worst thing is that I know that these things would have never happened if I had a man in the car. These taxi drivers use their "masculinity" to scare women. They say you can write the taxi's number to report abuse but to be honest when you feel like you are in danger that is the last thing you remember to do. If you are a woman avoid getting a black London cab at night. If you are going by yourself make sure you know the area that you are going and if possible contact a mini cab company that you trust first.

Here are some companies that I trust:

Ciros Pizza Pomodoro

Nearest underground station: Hyde Park Corner and Knightsbridge

Opening Hours:
Daily 18:00-01:00

Advice: Book your table before!

Ciro's Pizza Pomodoro is located at Beauchamp Place. The restaurant serves a variety of Italian dishes. The venue features regular live music from three different nationalities: Brazil, Arabic and Spanish.Inside Ciro's Pizza Pomodoro restaurant the walls are filled with Ciro's and celebrities pictures. They include: Paulo Coelho, Jordan, Bruce Wills and so on.The diners are allowed to dance and they can choose from a take away and delivery menu.

Warning:Too much fun!

Opinion: I really enjoyed my evening at Ciro's Pizza Pomodoro. I met Ciro the owner of the restaurant and honestly the place reflects him. The food is good and the atmosphere is fantastic! However, because of the restaurant's popularity the area is too small for the amount of people that dines in it and the waiters should be more polite!

Whisky Mist

Nearest underground station: Hyde Park Corner and Marble Arch.

Opening Hours:

Tuesday - Sunday 22:30-03:00

Advice: Look for the Hilton Hotel infront of Hyde Park and the nightclub is located on the its right side. If you want, you can also walk straight down from Marble Arch's underground station. Bring money!

Whisky Mist is from the owners of Mahiki. You can be a member but it isn't a members' only club. Whisky Mist is regularly visited by A-listers and Royals. The dress code is smart and elegant. The nightclub won the Best Boutique Club at The London Club and Bar Awards in 2009 and 2010. And it was shortlisted for Best Bar Interior (Other Space) at the Restaurant and Bar Design Awards 2009.

Warning: good looking people.

Opinion: I really like Whisky Mist because it's in a good area of London. The idea that the club is close to
a famous hotel makes it is ideal for me because I feel "safer" clubbing. The staff are very friendly as well I made friendship with the dancers. The VIP area in my point of view is not as exciting as the dance floor because its in a separate room and there is not enough space.

Fabric

Nearest underground station: Kings Cross St. Pancras and Chancery Lane.

Opening Hours:
Friday 21:30 - 5:00
Saturday 23:00-08:00
Sun 22:00-05:00

Advice:
Take the bus route 63 towards Honor Oakfrom from Kings Cross St. Pancras to the nightclub. Stop at Farringdon Stop. As you leave the bus walk two streets down and turn left.

Warning: Do not arrive late. The entry for this nightclub is mad. You might take over 4 hours in the queue.
Wear and Bring earplugs!!! (Facts revealed by personal experience)

Fabric is a very popular nightclub in London. Either you love it or you hate it. It has regular line-ups of the world's top DJs. The music policy includes drum n bass, hip hop, house, techno and much more. Inside the nightclub it looks like a maze because most of the rooms connect with each other. It also has different floors and these floors are separated by two different colors: red and blue. Which reminds me of Hitman's Heaven and Hell party. (Famous PS2 game) Bring or get your own earplugs because as the night goes on the music gets extremely loud. Apparently they have speakers under the dance floor.

Opinion: I really like Fabric's Saturday
night because its more techno-ish. Friday for me was disturbing and I will never do it again in my life! People danced like they were animals trying to mate as they suffered from a epilepsy attack. It was like I was watching Animal Planet, seriously. So please check your favorite night before you leave the house.
